The island life

For weeks I've always wanted to write about my recent out-of-town trips with my family. Once we're home and finally settled, I open my laptop hoping I can start writing my entry but, every time I try, the ideas I have in mind are gone drift away, and so did my willingness to write. Then I end up wasting my time scrolling over social media and whatnot.

This time though, I told myself that I need to blog. I MUST blog because I have so many great memories and photos to share during my trips and that I don't want this blog left un-updated for months.

It was only late last year when this barangay named Lanca became known to people due to its beautiful beaches and shoreline. From Davao, we have to travel 5 to 6 hours before we arrive at the place. Hence, we have to leave as early as 4 in the morning. The travel time might long yet, you will be amazed by the scenery you will pass since you will see the beaches and the mountain on each side.

You will know you're already near the beach when you pass by the downhill part of the road. As of now, it's a bit difficult to pass by due to a minor landslide because of Bagyong Auring, but it's just a small portion. Since most people only knew about this place recently the location is still not as "polished" as the other places, and few lot owners are just starting up thus, you can see some resorts that are starting their construction while some lots are still untouched. This photo below was from our 2nd time sad to say that the lot renters are already starting their construction and they've already cut some trees

Staying over on the beach for three days and two nights is always fun especially if you're with your cousin, and I'm glad that we're able to do this kind of trip not just once but twice. It was such luck that one of my cousins knew someone who lives in the area. During our first visit, the place was still untouched. Therefore, we can pitch a tent in their backyard (just a few steps away from the shore). YES, WE SLEPT IN A TENT NEAR THE BEACH WITH THE ENTIRE FAMILY

That's what our situation looks like whenever we're at the place, and to tell you it's much better than sleeping at the other resort because (a) No other guest besides us, (b) it's peaceful than the other resorts. However, Water and Energy are the major problems of the area since it's far from the city proper the basic needs are not easy to access.

THIS IS THE VIEW, THE FIRST THING WE SAW AS WE WAKE UP IN THE MORNING.

To be honest, there are no words to describe how beautiful this view is in real life, it never fails to make me calm just staring at it, and the sound of the waves crashing is so therapeutic to hear. (and I'm not exaggerating here) It is really beyond words to describe this place.

Also, we're lucky enough to witness the full moon last weekend (during our second visit). It was so lovely that I end up writing a decent caption in Filipino. Sa lawak ng karagatan, tanglaw ko ang buwan, rinig ko ang hampas ng mga alon habang nasa isip ko ay ikaw. I swear to God I didn't know how I came up with those words.

Like what I've said earlier, words can't describe how beautiful this place is. The energy the place gives whenever we are there. We tend to forget how long we travel. It's always a great experience, the view, the beach, the people are nice, and the dogs ugh I forgot to tell you how nice the dogs are to guests like us.
